Emma, January 11, 2012

2 am
Running through the hotel without shoes
Hushed giggles, narrowly avoiding security and curfew
Zombie survival 101 is full, so we have cereal instead.
We akwardly smile, waiting for our friend to introduce us
And we end up doing it ourselves.
With fake names.

Months pass, life happens, we forget each other.
Then suddenly, life happens again, and we're really all each other has.
Best friends who hardly know each other
But know each other perfectly.
My past is your past. Your family is my family. My tears are your tears. Your socks are my socks.
Our broken jigsaw parts fit together so well, that sometimes we blend into one image
We blur the line between you and me and me and you so often
That the woman behind the counter says she has twins of her own and wishes they got along like we do.
We shrug and let the world think what it wants
Because it doesn't matter to us. We can be who we want with each other
We can be our selves with each other.
I share with you what I cant even tell my own mother
And you come to me when yours is too much.
I held you through heartbreak, and you sang away my panic.
I wiped away your tears, and you taught me to breathe.
You have been there for me more times that I know how to count
And no matter what stupid thing I say
Or do
Or break
You're always there, arms wide open
Waiting to put this humpty dumpty back together again
And this is me saying that
Whatever you say
Or do
Or break
I will always make sure I have enough super glue and chocolate
To fix the world for you.
